Hello, my name is Ian Davis, I am a self-employed product design engineer with 28 years of experience operating a fabrication and machine shop in Southern Oregon USA. 2017 marked the beginning of, medically, a rough period of time for me.  2017, I broke my back. 2018, I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a terminal form of blood cancer, treatment included an autologous stem cell transplant.

‍2019, while still recovering from the stem cell transplant, four fingers of my left hand were amputated.  After being unable to find a partial hand prosthetic device that would meet my needs, I decided that the best course of action would be for me to design and build my own device.

Documenting this progress to my personal You Tube channel has had the unintended benefit of garnering me quite a bit of internet notoriety. This tenet of internet fame has allowed me to have a positive impact on the lives of many fellow amputees dealing with similar issues.
