Sofia has practiced plant genetic engineering at Stanford, Imperial College London, and her own bedroom. Loving bio as much as marketing, she started making lab-grown textiles as an entrepreneurial project a couple of years ago, thanks to the support of New Harvest, experiment.com, 1517 fund, Emergent Ventures, and the 776 foundation.
